For 60 feet filled outer edge 3 feet in depth, giving wide roadway at this point a stone culvert 20 inches by 20 inches by 20 feet was constructed,the rock for which was obtained from blasting a large boulder protruding from thebank into the road. We then made a cut into the bank 8 feet around a very sharpcurve for a distance of 180 feet. Average cut of bank 15 feet deep. At the endof»this cut we encount
