Palpi, first and second segments covered with white scales. End of third segment isdark, fourth segment quite white. Distinguished from M. rhodesiensis by palpi and wing fringe. East Africa. Group II Larger species than the above. Generally lighter. Wings not so covered with dark scales. Habits: Domestic species breeding in foul puddles, etc., near houses.
