They broughtwith them liberal fifth Sunday offerings,the one from Bollingers Chapel amount-ing to $ and that of ConnellySprings totaling $ These two Sun-day schools always remember us in avery liberal way. Among other giftsthey brought with them a lovely silkquilt made by Mrs. A. E. Connelly, 91years old. I regret that I could not be. Annie is an orphan, but her doll is not with these friends personally, but MissGray and others here made them feel athome. Our Burke county friends havea cordial invitation to return anothertime to visit their foster children. BAKED BEANS Betty Welborn, an attractive littlecurly headed girl in our singing class,not only sings well but recites very puts a lot of expression in what shesays and has so far never found a timewhen she hesitated at what was to besaid next. Yesterday while over at Cen-ter she came in her reading to bakedbeans, and after having said it threetimes with some hesitation she wentalong with her reading in a very pleas-ing way. On the way home inquiry wasmade of Betty as to why she hesitatedand this is what she said: You knowthere was a great big man sitting therein the audience with his eyes wide openjust a lookin at me. When I came tobaked beans his mouth opened wide. Igot to lookin at him and forgot aboutmy
