PARAMYXOVIRIDAE VIRUS
The paramyxoviridae family of viruses are characterized by an RNA (ribonucleic acid) genome and a spiked envelope formed by glycoprotein projections. Three types of viruses are identified in this family: Paramyxovirus; Morbillivirus, which includes the measles virus; Pneumovirus, which includes the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).They are transmitted through air or by direct human-human contact, particularly in cold, wet conditions. Approximate diameter: 200 nm.
