Hewas elected county auditor in October, 1874, takingthe office the November following and holding itfour years. During that time he made a complete andvaluable abstract of the real estate of the county. In1S79 he was appointed to the office he now holds, ofdeputy collector of internal revenue for the SeventhDistrict. December 23, 1874, he married Miss Salina , daughter of Samuel A. Black, Esq., have two children, a son and a daughter. He is anactive, influential Republican, and one of the foremostleaders of the party in his section of the state.
