Mrs. Copelands Great-grandfather French came from New Hampshireto Maine, and her grandfather, Joseph A., and two brothers were among the foundersof South Chesterville, Maine. Mrs. Copeland had two brothers in the Civil War,Captain Henry French, and Joseph French, who was in a Maine regiment of cavalryand who now lives on the old Joseph French place. She attended Kents Hill Semi-nary, and when a young lady came west to Chicago, where she resided with a sisterand a brother. She had made the acquaintance of Justin M.
