This breezeway facilitates the movement of Marines and Sailors supporting flight operations in direct support of the culminating event of UNITAS 2022. The amphibious raid is the final joint, and combined, training evolution of this year’s annual exercise where marines and navy personnel from 19 different countries combine their collective resources to conduct a ship-to-shore operation to seize a known objective. UNITAS is the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise that focuses on enhancing interoperability among multiple nations and joint forces during littoral and amphibious operations in order to build on existing regional partnerships and create new enduring relationships that promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Southern Command’s area of responsibility.
