Maison de Francois I, aux Champs Élysées

The view taken in 1828, shows the Maison de Francois I, aux Champs Élysées. The Elysian Fields of Paris were planted in 1663 under Colbert and improved by Marquis d’Augivilliers. They extended to Chaillot, Faubourg d Roule, Faubourg du St Honoré, Place Louis XV and Barriere de Nѐuilly. It is one of the grandest entrances to a capital city in Europe. A later extension was to the Quartier de François I. An avenue diverges at the Place de Francois I from the Quay facing the Hotel d’Invalides.
