Jean Berain (theson) succeeded to hisfather as draughtsmanto the King. He etchedseveral plates from hisown designs of the or-naments of panels andsculpture which are inthe Gallery of Apollo inthe Louvre. Bouillecarried out some ofBerains designs in thepanels of his cabinets,etc. As Jean Berain wasone of the artists whodesigned for Boule, Ihave thought it best togive here a description (Continued on page 87.)
