Pfaffenschlag archeological site of medieval village near Slavonice, Czech Republic

Pfaffenschlag was a medieval village established in the last quarter of the 13th century, but throughout the Hussite wartime it was burned down by the advancing army. Archaeological research was in progress there in the years 1959 – 1971. The most important discovery was that the medieval neighborhood Pfaffenschlag was not founded “on green sward”, but on the foundations of an older Slavonic settlement from the 11th and 12th century.
