GULF OF ADEN (March 23, 2019) – An MV-22 Osprey with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit prepares to land on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) during a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel mission rehearsal. The training prepares Marines to enter combative areas and retrieve or destroy sensitive materials as well as recover personnel. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are currently deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security
