He left a daughter, Elizabeth, who married JohnMordaunt, afterwards Viscount Mordaimt. They had ason Charles, so named on account of his grandfathersgreat love for Charles I. Seventeenth Charles Cary Mordaunt was grand-nephew ofHenry, second Monmouth, and was created third Earl ofMonmouth in 1689.
