King Darius depicted in the Alexander Mosaic from the Casa del Fauno (House of the Faun) in Pompeii, now on display in the National Archaeological Museum (Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli) in Naples, Campania, Italy. King Darius is depicted on the chariot attacked by Alexander the Great during one of decisive battles in the conquest of the East, probably the Battle of Issus (333 BC), the Battle of the Granicus River (334 BC) or the Battle of Gaugamela (331 BC).
