Navy sailors and members of the Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station clear ice from the hatch of the USS Connecticut (SSN 22) as it surfaces above the ice in the Arctic Ocean on March 19, 2011. The submarine and crew are participating in Ice Exercise 2011, which tests submarine operations in the Arctic.
