Kepler 62f (foreground) is an exoplanet around the orange dwarf star Kepler 62 (left). It is the outermost of five planets known to be orbiting this star, as discovered by the Kepler planet finder mission. The mission uses the transiting method to find planets. This infers the presence of planets around stars by the tiny dip in light levels observed when the planet pass in front of their host stars. Kepler 62f, which is on the outskirts of Kepler 62's habitable zone, may be covered in a frozen oceans somewhat reminiscent of Jupiter's Europa, as this scene imagines. This scene imagines the view from 62f, looking towards the star with the next innermost planet, 62e, transiting in front of its disc.
