See Colored Plate on front cover page of the Farm Annual for 1902. This variety, //'/a/ in/rnihircd in Americu by ns in 18S',, is decidedly better in quality than the White Plume. It. is ready for use nearly asearly, blanches as easily, and is larger in size as well as liner in quality. It. is of dwarf, compact habit, with thick, solid, heavily ribbed stalks which blanch easily to a clear waxen yellow. When grown in rich, moist soil the stalks are numerous, each plant being fully as thick through as the largest of the tall late sorts, and wiih a very large, solid heart of beautiful golden-yellow stalks and leaves. The stalks are crisp and solid, free from stringiness and of delicious flavor. The genuine selected strain is quite scarce this season, and merchantsshould be careful of whom they obtain their supply of this important Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original W.
