SPRING CATALOGUE OF SEEDS, BULBS AND PLANTS FOR 1916- 133 NEW EVERBEARING RASPBERRIES. Price, j for 40c; or $ dozen; $ 100. St Regis—It is one of the earliest of all red Raspberries, beginning to ripen in June just as the Strawberry crop is waning. It is wonderfully prolific, the first or main crop being far greater than that of any other red var- iety known. It gives a crop of fruit all summer and autumn, fruiting on the old canes in generous quan- tities until late in August. By this date berries begin to ripen up on the young, i. e., current year's canes, which continue to produce berries in increasing num- bers until late autumn. These berries are a bright crimson, of large size and surpassing quality, rich, sugary, with full raspberry flavor. As a shipper it is unexcelled. The canes are of stocky, strong growth with a great abundance of dark green leathery leaves, that never scald nor sunburn. It succeeds upon all soils, whether light and sandy or cold heavy clay. St. Regis is of pure American blood and iron-clad hardi- ness; the canes endure severest cold uninjured and are wonderfully prolific. Ranere—Ranere has a remarkable constitution, with- standing the severest winter as well as severe drouth; does well on heavy soil or on light sandy soil; is a strong grower with luxuriant foliage that never suffer from sunburn. The fruit is of largest size, a beautiful brilliant crimson, highest quality, firm, and an excel- lent shipper. If planted early, Ranere will yield ripe fruit in June of the same year. The fruit will keep in good condition longer than any red Raspberry known. A piece containing less than two acres of Ranere Yield- ed a crop in June,
