The plan of founding such a semi-nary was regarded with considerable dis-favor, and he spent seven years of up-hill work in collecting funds and fillingthe chair of instructor. Before his deathin 1863, at the age of seventy-one, hewas planning to found another such in-stitution in California. Time has justi-fied his views, and the Church has takenunder its immediate wing the work forwhich he struggled. His first organization has grown tofine proportions. The institute was re-moved in 1867 from Concord, and locatedin Boston, where its name was changedto Boston Theological Seminary.
