China: Empress Xiao Shen Cheng (5 July 1792 - 16 June 1833), second Empress Consort of the Daoguang Emperor. Handscroll painting, c. 1822-1833. Empress Xiaoshencheng was the second Empress Consort of the Daoguang Emperor, and came from the Manchu Bordered Yellow Banner Tunggiya clan. Lady Tunggiya married Minning, the future Daoguang Emperor, in 1809. She became empress consort when her husband was enthroned in 1820, though his posthumous granting of the title 'Empress Xiaomu' to his first consort, Lady Niohuru, meant that Lady Tunggiya was technically the second empress.
