Foot muscles. Computer artwork of an oblique view from below and behind of some of the muscles and tendons (red and white) of the sole of the foot. On the four smaller toes are the lumbrical muscles (only shown at left) and tendons, which are attached to the flexor digitorum longus muscle of the calf (upper left, semi-transparent at right). The tendon on the big toe (only shown at left) originates from the calf's flexor hallucis longus muscle (not shown at right). Both views show the quadratus plantae muscle joining the heel bone (calcaneus) and the flexor digitorum longus tendon. The view at left includes bone ligaments (white).
