Built on the site of a former 6th century Saint Deiniol’s Monastery, the 12th century Cathedral Church of Bangor is dedicated to Saint Deiniol. During the 19th century, the cathedral underwent considerable reconstruction under the supervision of Sir Gilbert Scott.
