Ludlow in Salem, when their bodies werebrought from Halifax by the Salem ship-masters associatedwith Capt. George Crowninshield, and their temporary entomb-ment in Salem until removed to New York, may be found inthe Sketch of Salem, by Osgood and Batchelder (p. 52) and inother local and general histories. E. S. Maclay in History ofthe U. S. Navy, vol. I, p. 466, incorrectly states that thebodies of Lawrence and Ludlow were taken to Boston andfuneral services held there. 6o.
