Bevacizumab chemotherapy drug being prepared. This drug, marketed as Avastin, is used to treat a number of metastatic cancers, including colorectal and lung cancers. It is a monoclonal antibody that stops the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), therefore starving tumours of oxygen and nutrients.
