. CAUSTIC HOLDER. Soap.—A combination of fatty acid with an alkali. Soap Liniment.—Opodeldoc.—A very useful appli- cation for sprains, bruises, and for stiff joints. Soda.—A mineral alkali. ^ (1.) Carbonate of Soda.—Useful as an antacid, in doses of from two to four drachms. (2.) Sulphate oe Soda.—(See Glauber's Salts.) (3.) Sulphite of Soda.—This is made by passing a stream of sulphurous acid through a concentrated solution
