A German close helmet, circa 1580 Skull forged in one piece with a high corded comb and a riveted gorget. A two-piece movable visor secured by a hook latch. Ventilation holes on one side. Hook-latched bevor riveted to the gorget, which has turned under rims. Minimal soft-solder repairs. Height 31 cm.
