The Market. The week after Easter found l)usiness extremely slow, with stock piling up considerably. By the end of the week the market" was quite flooded with all kinds of stock. Bulbous stock, such as daffodils, tulips and narcissi, predomi- nated, while carnations, roses, calen- dulas, etc., were a close second, with a sprinkling of niiniiiture roses, niyo- sotis and sweet peas. Most of the retailers rejiorted an ex ceptionally g()od Easter business, with a decided lull last week. There was no business, in fact, outside of funeral work and a few weddings. The weather here has l)een change- able, mostly quite warm, with an occa- sional rain and now and then a day of freezing ti'in]ierature, which probably has killed .(insiderable outdoor stock. Various Notes. George Taffel, of Schloss Bros., New York, was .a visitor. W. A. Potter has announced the ar- rival of 11 baby boy. _ _ Oscar Leistner was a recent visitor. The Florists' Club last week held its nionthlv meeting in conjunction with the committees for the national flower show. ^W. A. B. West Plains, Mo.—The destructive freeze which great loss here March 29 killed tomato plants at the Cottage Greenhouse & Ozark Pansy Gar- dens, run by C. W.
