The "Twelve Apostles" standing stones on Rombold's Moor, Ilkley Moor, West Yorkshire, UK

The Twelve Apostles Standing Stones (also once known as the Druids Chair and the Druidical Dial Circle) are 1264 feet above sea level on Rombold's Moor, west Yorkshire. The structure is thought to date back as far as 4000 years, though it has probably been altered a great deal over the centuries. According to the local archaeologist Arthur Raistrick, who visited the site in 1929, the circle probably originally consisted of 20 stones, with a single centre stone.
