Floral-shaped Cup and Saucer with Inlaid Chrysanthemum Design, 1100s-1200s. This celadon wine cup is inlaid with a chrysanthemum pattern that reflects Koreans’ enjoyment of both the poem "Drinking Wine" and the blessings of longevity associated with the Double Nine Festival. The flower design on the saucer is less delicate than the cup, as the cup and saucer were originally from different sets; they were later paired together after each lost its mate.
