CHICAGO BOH flor;* ANNO N FLORAL COMPANY Member F. T. D. 75 E. Monroe St. Retail Florists' Association was held Thursday evening, May 5, at the Chat- ham hotel. Owing to the nearness of this meeting to Mothers' day, there was a small attendance, considering former meetings. Chairman Ira C. Harper was absent, due to the illness of his mother. Harvey Sheaf, vice-chairman, was in the chair. Election of officers for the ensuing year was postponed until a later date. '' Cooperation among Retail Florists" was the chief subject of the evening. It was urged that new members be obtained. To make the association a success, every retail florist should be a member. Printed lists of the members of the association were distributed, giving the names and ad- dresses of all members. H. .T. H. TORONTO, ONT. The Market. The outstanding feature of last week was the heavy demand for flowers and plants for Mothers' day and the short- age of flowers. Some of the growers have advanced their prices considerably. High prices prevent the flowers get- ting into the hands of the lowly citizen on Mothers' day and this condition is not desirable, especially at this season of the year. However, there is a distinct shortage. The warm weather we have been enjoy- ing brought on the flowers too quickly. We have, therefore, had plenty of stock MEMBER F. T. D. 'imc^ GEO. WITTBOLD CO.
