It is interesting to note that in theanimals of this stock, chronic leukemiaand pseudoleukemia (alymphatic leu-kemia, not lymphogranulomatosis) haveoccurred only in the cancer strains andhave behaved as if they were true neo-plastic diseases. As yet we have notanalyzed this material and are not pre-pared to discuss the matter further thanthe mere statement of the fact, which OF 215 AND SOME DERIVATIVES. 457 INHERITABILITYis in support of the contention of manypathologists, that chronic leukemia andpseudoleukemia are as much true neo-plasms as are lymphosarcomas. Chart 1, then, shows the segregatingout and the transmission as such of thenon-cancer and the cancer tendencies, also the tendency to a specificity oftissue type, which locates the neoplasmin a certain organ, and their perfectlytypical Mendelian behavior in heredityas unit characters. Here also three lines areextracted, individual for individual, parallel with those shown in Chart 1,namely (1) a dominant line A, inwhich albinos never occurred either inthe direct descent or in the accessoryfraternities; (2) a recessive line B,1 00 per cent albinos, in which no pig-mented individual ever appeared, and(3) a heterozy
