The queues at Morrisons in Cambourne,Cambs,on Friday Dec 11th as petrol was sold for under £1. There were long queues at Morrisons petrol station in Cambourne near Cambridge today (Fri) as the supermarket dropped prices to less than £1. Motorists filling up with unleaded will pay a litre at Morrisons petrol stations from today after the price of oil fell. Asda has also cut the price of its petrol for this weekend to on unleaded and on diesel. It is the first time retailers have brought their everyday price of petrol down to below £1 since June 2009. "Today for the first time in more than six years, we are moving unleaded prices down to below £1-a-litre," said Bryan Burger, petrol retail director at Morrisons. "This is a moment where motorists will feel some relief after being clobbered by tax and price rises for the last decade. "From the petrol price peak four years ago, the average car driver will have saved £17 a week, which they can now spend on more enjoyable things than filling up their car."
