St Pauls, London, anti capitalist camp. BBCs Justin Rowlatt with banker David Buik discussing economic situation with protesters
After the initial 'Occupation of Wall Street' protest other occupations have occurred around the world in solidarity expressing opposition to government cuts and subsidy of bankers at the expense of public services. On Saturday 15th October an attempted occupation outside the London Stock Exchnge, Paternoster Square, was thwarted and an occupation in the grounds of St Pauls Cathedral was started with protesters saying they will stay until Christmas. An organised camp of small tents with communal kitchen, library, teaching rooms etc has been set up. On 19/10/2011 BBC reporter Justin Rowlatt invited banker David Buik to an open forum discussion with the protesters on the steps of St Pauls, so that the protesters and the banker could discuss the economic crisis.
