We have observed closely the maturing of all varieties of Sugar Corn at our experimental grounds, Riverton, N. J., and have classified them according to the time of maturity. The Sweet or Sugar varieties, being liable to rot in cold or wet ground, should not be planted before May, or until the ground has become warm ; for a succession continue planting every two weeks until the middle or July, in rich, well-manured ground, in hills 3 feet apart each way, covering about half an inch, and thin out to three plants to a hill. The extra early varieties can be planted 18 inches in the row and 2% feet between the rows.
