Robot arm. Shape memory metal robot arm and a man's forearm holding balls. Memory metals are alloys made of aluminium or copper along with nickel and titanium. Once manufactured in a certain shape the metal may be deformed with little effort, but its plastic-like nature allows it to quickly regain its shape once released. Here the robot's fingers have been brought together to grip the ball, but when they are released they will smoothly unfurl back to their original position.
