The Biotop subsidiary of Union Invivo, following on from a cooperation agreement, begun with INRA and focused on developing an organic method of protecting corn from predatory moths through the use of trichogramma. In the fall of 2009, Biotop developed a solution against the tomato pinworm (Tuta absoluta) which has recently invaded Europe. This method avoids heavy use of pesticide harmful to the environment.
