Camperdown Weeping Elm (Camperdown Pendula)—When grafted to 8 feet high, forms a large handsome head; is of rank growth, and shoots often making a zig-zag growth downward and outward, of several feet in a single season. The leaves are large, dark green, glossy and cover the tree with a mass of verdure. Red or Slippery Elm ( X. Fulva)—Not so large as the American, hut foliage larger, and makes an excellent shade tree. EVERGREEN TREES ABIES Fir and Spruce Balsam Fir (A. Balsamea)—A very erect, reg- ular pyramidal tree, with dark green foliage; grows rapidly and is very hardy. Douglas Spruce (A. Douglasii)—From Colo- rado; large, conical form, branches spread- ing horizontally. Leaves light green above, glaucous below. JUNIPERUS Red Cedar, Juniper Irish Juniper (J. Hiberinica)—A distinct and beautiful variety of an erect, dense, conical. Carolina Poplar. ( See page .).
