Gateway, fencing and earthwork ramparts by entrance to the Iron Age Hill Fort on Burrough Hill, Leicestershire, England, UK. The remains of this iron age hillfort stand on a prominent hilltop 200m above sea level and about 7 miles south of Melton Mowbray. The site is popular with historians, sightseers and walkers offering commanding views from the encircling earthwork ramparts over the surrounding countryside. In recent summers further archaeological digs have taken place to try to uncover more of the site's history.
