Example of a sweet-potato house. — Storagehouses may vary in capacity from a few liundrcd bushelsto several thousand. The construction and managementof such a house, used l)y an Alaljama farmer, may serve asan example. The essential features of such a house arethe following: (1) double walls filled with sawdust and alayer of sand or sawdust above the ceiling; (2) one ormore ventilators, and transoms over the doors; (3) binsslatted on all sides and bottoms, so that the air has freeaccess.
