Landsat Data Continuity Mission. Technicians beginning checkout of NASA's Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM, Landsat 8) satellite at the Astrotech facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA, where it will undergo prelaunch processing. The LDCM mission is a collaboration between NASA and the Geological Survey that will continue the Landsat Program's 40-year data record of monitoring the Earth's landscapes from space. It was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA, on 11th February 2013.
