ICE diving in the Black Sea, Odessa, Ukraine, Eastern Europe.

On 15th of February the first ice diving to Black sea (Odessa, Ukraine, Eastern Europe) has been made. At the moment this is unique and the first officially recorded diving under the ice in the Black sea. Ice diving in the Black sea is rarely possible, and for most divers this submersion in our "southern" sea could perhaps be experienced only once in a lifetime. The frozen Black sea is an unusual phenomenon. The last time such weather anomalies occurred in 1977, when the sea was completely frozen along the Odessa shores and the Crimean peninsula. In diving under ice have accepted participations: Alexander Kurakin (the underwater video-operator and the hydrobiologist), Andrey Nekrasov (the underwater photographer), Sergey Ryabov (Illichevsk branch of the International School of Underwater Swimmers "Amphora") and Andrey Nekrasov Jr (on the insurance).
