one of Addis Ababa's new light rail trains trundles through the city
The Addis Ababa Light Rail opened in September 2015 and is hugely popular with the local residents with trains often running full. It was built by China Railway Group and is operated by Shenzhen Metro Group, with majority of the funding for the $475m (USD) project coming from China, who is investing extensively into the North African country.
