Geographical distribution.—Based on material examined deposited in the ich- thyological collections previously mentioned, Lile nigrofasciata is distributed in the Bahia Magdalena-Bahia Almejas lagoon complex in the southwestern Baja California Sur, Mexico, the Golfo de California (Bahia de Guasimas, Sonora; Bahia Concepcion and Manglar El Conchalito at Ensenada de La Paz, BCS), and along the western coast of Mexico and Central America, to Colombia, Ecuador and northern Peru.
