OCEAN (April 11, 2017) USS Shoup (DDG 86) Command Master Chief Mia Strader, from St. Louis, Mo., Cmdr. Ted Wiederholt, commanding officer, from Remsen, Iowa, and Cmdr. Andy Strickland, executive officer, from Lake Jackson, Texas, sing "Happy Birthday" to Sailors while underway for a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
