The boys were seen wearing masks as they filed into the chapel yesterday afternoon (Sat) to record the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. This year the service had no congregation due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it will still be broadcast around the world. It is estimated that up to 100 million people each year listen to the recording of the carol service which is played across the globe, including on more than 450 public radio stations in America. The service, which was first held in 1918, has been televised by the BBC for more than 60 years. The boys were seen wearing masks as they filed into the chapel yesterday afternoon (Sat) to record the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. This year the service had no congregation due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it will still be broadcast around the world.
