Under this heading four observations are to be sepa-rated : 1. Many enlarged prostates, on gross section, show hereand there all over the cut surface, small but still macro-scopic, round, fleshy nodules or kernels looking like minutefibroids. Microscopically, these always have for their essen-tial structure one system of enlarged acini. These are thepseudo-adenomata of Ciechanowski. Each consists ap-parently of all the elementary glands which originally arbor-ated into a single duct; obstruction of this common duct bycontraction of the new fibrous tissue about it has causedretention of the secretion of all the tributary acini, and theirpassive dil
