Elephant corner on Sea Lion Island is a haven for these large sea mammals. They haul themselves up the beach and lie contentedly in the summer sun. Usually in groups but occasionally singly. The groups sometimes break into small joust of snorting, grunting and head butting between rivals. Tussac birds make their way between these beasts and peck at moulting skin from time to time.
