The Monastery of San Juan de la Peña located in Jaca, Huesca, Aragon (Spain),was the most important monastery of :Eduardo Manzana

Probably there was some kind of monastery before the eleventh century, but the construction of greater importance began in 1026 on the initiative of Sancho el Mayor. In the year 1071 the king Sancho Ramírez gives the existing set to the monks cluniacenses and favors its reform. At this moment the group that today is left, to a greater or lesser extent, rises. The Benedictine Reformation of Cluny could not ignore the construction of a cloister that will be completed by the 12th century.
