A long cup-hilt rapier, Italian, Brescia, circa 1680 Extremely long thrusting blade with a flattened medial ridge. There are fullers on both sides in the upper fifth of the blade with the stamped inscription: "X XX IACOB XX BRACH XX X - XX INNN XX SOLINGEN XX X." Iron knucklebow hilt with widely extended quillons. The obverse side of the guard plate chiselled with a monster between leafy vines. The grip cover has the original copper wire winding.
