170411-N-MG079-085 ARABIAN GULF (April 11, 2017) An F/A-18E Super Hornet attached to the "Tomcatters" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 31 completes the 9,999th assisted takeoff from catapult four aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Bush (CVN 77) (GHWB). GHWB is deployed in the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
