Blue and black areas show the extent of the flooding. The Mississippi River runs from top left to bottom right; the Missouri River flows from centre left, joining midway. The town of West Alton, inundated by the water, is at the bend of the bridge over the flood plain upper right of centre. The data were gathered by a Landsat satellite on 18 July 1993. Compare with E540/118, the same area seen on 4 July 1988.
